The Office

Ms. Beth wrote...
All of a sudden Kaylie seems to want to kick Greg out of his office and "work" in there by herself like he does. So I created an office "just for her" in the kitchen at the little table. She has her "play" laptop, her "cell phone", a pen and paper and water (her sippy). She also has "magazines" (kid's activity books) and even her own secretary (that's me). Kaylie set to work immediately typing important emails on her computer. Next her phone rang (though I didn't hear it so she had to pick it up herself). The call was not confidential so I will relate her side of it:

"Hello?" (Business-like)
"Yes" (Nods head)
"Bye!" (click!)

Perhaps one day her dream will come true and she really will be just like her mom and dad. In the meantime there is one thing missing: Kaylie needs to hire a Nanny of her own to help her while I play secretary, because she kept having to get up and leave the office to help her stuffed dog (Siya) go to the "potty".

Later I opened a cupboard in the kitchen and Kaylie saw the Halloween candy and reached for it. "No thanks, Kaylie!", I told her and I closed the cupboard. So Kaylie looked back at the cupboard and said, "trick or treat!"

Shoes

Ms. Beth wrote...
Today I said to Kaylie: "We will go outside soon. Where are your shoes?" I usually have her bring them to me. I turned around a moment later and she was by my side again -with her shoes ON! She had put them on herself.

Cherry Tea Ring

Ms. Beth and I baked again today on this beautiful autumn day. Our new recipe was a Cherry Tea Ring. I especially loved to eat the cherries. Yummy!

Happy Halloween

Auntie JoAnn gave me the spider costume for Halloween. Mama and Obachan bought me the Lady bug jacket with matching red poke-a-dots leggings. Insects are the theme this Halloween!

Grandma's Molasses Cookies

Today Miss Beth and I took a long walk outside enjoying the colors of the leaves, came inside to play with the play dough and then made molasses cookies. I actually helped roll the cookie dough in sugar! Yum!

Pumpkins!

I'm still not understanding the concept of Halloween, but I do enjoy dressing-up. Kaitlyn and Lauren had "amazing" (word I learned from the street, Sesame Street) costumes which we all paraded around the All Seasons room. The entire family gutted and carved pumpkins, both little and small. Grandpa was spicing and roasting the pumpkin seeds. I was fascinated with Grandma's fake, plastic pumpkin, which I carried everywhere. Some of the many great moments that weekend were playing bumper cars with the green bean bags, hiding in the evergreen tree fort, carrying brussel sprouts in a basket followed by dogs, and climbing a tree for autumn photos!

Down Dog

This afternoon we drove down to Ohio to spend the weekend with Grandma Debby & Grandpa Steve for the annual pumpkin carving. My cousins, Kaitlyn and Lauren, will be arriving on Saturday evening. So until then, I kept Grandma and Mommy busy with yoga poses.
